When you're anxious and 'nothing is even wrong'

Anxiety doesn't always need a reason. If you feel on edge despite a life that looks fine on paper, you're not making it up.

One of the most common things people say, almost apologetically, is: “I don’t even have a reason to feel like this.” As if anxiety needs a permit.

Anxiety doesn’t always announce a cause

You can have a stable job, people who love you, and a life that photographs well — and still wake up with a tight chest and a racing mind. That doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful or broken. It means you’re human, and something in you is asking for attention.

“Fine on paper” is its own kind of hard

When your life looks good from the outside, it can feel harder to admit you’re struggling — you worry you’ll seem dramatic. So you carry it quietly. That quiet-carrying is exhausting, and it’s exactly the sort of thing counselling is for.

You don’t need a big reason to ask for help

You don’t have to earn support with a serious enough story. Feeling persistently on edge is reason enough. Together we can look at what your anxiety might be pointing to — gently, without pathologising you.
